AN al fresco day of all things Beatle and Beetle got people flocking to Wanborough.
The event, commemorating both the Volkswagen Beetle and the Fab Four at The Harrow Inn, was given a useful boost thanks to some Good Day Sunshine.
Crowds of around 300 gathered under the warmth of the midday sun to listen to their favourite Beatles numbers.
Those psychedelic days of the 60s were recreated by Swindon's renowned Beatles tribute band, the Pre Fab Four, led by Pete Townsend, who had the crowds tapping their feet and singing along.
Barry Hillier, the landlord of the pub, said: "The Pre Fab Four went down really well. I was extremely pleased with the turn out.''
For classic car fans there was a display of around 20 VW Beetles surrounding the pub.
Members of the VW Beetle Owners Clubs from Swindon, Oxford, Wallingford, Abingdon, Dorset and Melksham polished up their fenders to put the Beetle back into Beetlemania.
Barry said: "What was special for me was they came in convoys. Four from Oxford arrived and drove into their pride of parking place and then the next convoy would turn up and drive into this special roped-off area."
There were so many people that the pub ran out of food, ice and glasses and the publican hopes to make it an annual event.
Barry is considering doing a Locomotive Day next with steam engines and the band Locomotion.
