John Murphy welcomes an old pal to Hunts Copse tonight (Tuesday).
The Marine manager will renew acquaintances with Corsham Town player-coach John Freegard his former assistant at Cinderford.
The two remain close friends from their time at the Forest of Dean club, and Murphy even tried to poach the experienced forward as an assistant after taking over at Hunts Copse.
But the Marine boss is sure Freegard will be aiming to shoot down his mentor's side when he leads the line for the Screwfix League visitors.
"Me and John are very close having worked together at Cinderford," Murphy revealed.
"I tried to get him to join me here, but he wanted to carry on playing.
"I'm sure he'll want to get one over on me, and I think we'll both have our excuses ready just in case."
Marine will be looking for their third successive win after 3-1 victories over Hook Norton and Aldershot.
Some of Murphy's old stagers will be rested to give the academy boys a chance to shine, while former Swindon Town defender Brian Smith will be on trial again after a steady showing against Aldershot.
Corsham have only had one pre-season run out to date, where they managed to restrict Chippenham to a narrow 1-0 victory at the Southbank.
