THE group who took its Front Garden anti-building battle to the High Court is planning a fundraising sponsored bicycle ride.
The Front Garden Action Group (FRAG) lost last year's bid to prevent Swindon Council from allowing around 4,000 houses to be built on the large tract of green space.
FRAG has met legal costs of £27,845 so far, with £3,000 still owing to the council and £1,166 to a solicitor.
That is why the group has organised a family bike ride near the Front Garden on Sunday, August 8.
FRAG leader Terry King said: "We still believe that it would be stupid and insensitive to develop on the Front Garden for many reasons, including flooding, noise, wildlife, archaeology and health.
"We will continue to fight."
The 10-mile ride there is a 20-mile option for those who prefer longer routes will begin at the Croft Sports Centre at 2pm.
Entry will cost £5 per bike if booked in advance, £10 per bike on the day and £12 per family group of any size, if booked in advance.
Further information is available from Terry King on Swindon 487154 or Roger Hayes on Swindon 826375.
