SWEETHEARTS Ashleigh Slater, 27, of Palmer Street, Chippenham, and postman George Tinson, 28, of Yewstock Crescent, tied the knot in true medieval style on Saturday.
"Ever since I was younger I knew this was the type of wedding I wanted with a candlelit wedding ceremony. The medieval theme was the best idea," said Mrs Tinson, a teacher at Bybrook Valley School, Yatton Keynell.
The couple met 20 months ago in the Little George pub in Chippenham and it was love at first sight. They were engaged on Chesil beach, Dorset, in October last year and were married at St Paul's Church in Chippenham. Mrs Tinson's father, David Slater, is the minister at Station Hill Baptist Church in Chippenham.
The wedding preparations involved both bride and groom creating their own coat of arms.
"We designed the coat of arms to reflect our characters," said Mrs Tinson. Her design depicted an ash tree and a brook and her entourage wore green tunics featuring the coat of arms.
Mr Tinson, a huge Star Wars fan whose middle name is Jedi, designed his coat of arms around the Rebel Alliance symbol, as seen in the Star Wars films.
"The wedding reflected the sort of people we are," said Mrs Tinson.
