FORMER Southampton footballer Nick Holmes was this week officially appointed Salisbury City's new manager.
After witnessing impressive displays by the side in their friendlies at Basing-stoke Town and Downton, the 1976 FA Cup winner agreed terms with the Old Sarum outfit on Tuesday morning.
Neville Beal, one of the members of the club-saving consortium who was instrumental in bringing Holmes to City, said he was "absolutely delighted" by Holmes' decision.
Holmes is due to re-turn to the States this week to tie up business arrangements. In his absence, Roger Emms and Andy Cook will continue to run first team affairs.
