VISITORS driving between Marlborough and Avebury expecting to see some of the annual crop circles have been surprised to see giant dice and dominoes in a field at West Overton.
But the large dotted shapes have nothing to do with alien visitations or freak weather conditions.
They are the work of Neil Swanson, of Park Farm, Clench Common, who has been setting out a course for the White Horse Harness Club, which has a competition at Manor Farm at Overton at the weekend.
Carriage driver Priscilla Maude, who farms at Overton with her husband Michael, have made their land available to the club.
Mr Swanson said he was expecting at least 25 entries on Saturday and Sunday for the event, which includes a variety of tests including a seven kilometre cross country.
The dice, made out of wooden pallets covered with sheeting, will be part of tricky obstacle course that the contestants will have to negotiate on Sunday.
