A REDUNDANT 70s office block in Princes Street is to be turned into flats and a health club.
The Marchday Group Plc was granted permission by Swindon planners on Tuesday night to turn Windsor House office block, formerly known as the Atrium, into 130 apartments complete with a health and fitness studio on the ground floor.
The office block has remained vacant for several years despite efforts to re-let it after substantial renovation and granting of concessions for various uses including a restaurant and leisure facility.
Planners agreed that the current building had outlived its usefulness and welcomed the chance to redevelop an urban brownfield site, which will include 13 affordable units.
