LAST Friday, having read in the Gazette about the sponsor's signs over the hanging baskets in Marlborough being too large I decided to look for myself.

Both the baskets and the sponsor's signs are so insignificant as to be almost invisible. Visitors to the town could be forgiven for not noticing them.

Marlborough High Street, which once was a tourist attraction, has become what must be one of the largest car parks for miles.

If Marlborough councillors wish to express their concern about anything in the High Street may I suggest they walk from the town hall to St Peter's Church. Perhaps they will notice all the chairs and tables and "A" signs blocking the way for wheelchairs, mothers with prams, and even pedestrians.

The end of Hughenden Yard is particularly bad, the signs there block half of the pavement.

Surely this is much more important than a few sponsors' signs or am I failing to notice the commercial aspect?
