I WRITE concerning the article on Page 5 of the Gazette last week about every household in the North Wiltshire District Council area being supplied with a wheelie bin free of charge.
It is not so. We will pay for them through our council tax.
Also, any other rubbish not in this bin will not be collected so we shall be compelled to dispose of these extras which we could put into plastic bags, in other ways, instead of them being thrown into the lorry as they have been in the past.
The nincompoop who has come up with this idea is going to have to take the blame for an escalation in fly tipping.
And what about the elderly, the infirm or disabled? They can't push this bin through their gate for collection, so do they leave this eyesore outside their house all week?
