DETECTIVES hunting an attacker who bit off and swallowed a man's eyebrow have been disappointed at the public response.
Police believe several people may be able to identify the attacker who launched into the savage assault outside a kebab van in Fore Street, Trowbridge in the early hours of July 20.
CCTV footage shows the victim, who is in his 30s, howling in pain after his eyebrow was torn off.
A second man, in his 40s, was beaten unconscious by two other attackers. The offenders were then seen running towards Lloyds Bank.
DC Neil Le-Maire said: "We are still hoping people will come forward who could be vital eye-witnesses.
"We have had a poor response but know there were a fair number of people in Trowbridge on the night of the attack."
Two women seen talking to the eyebrow victim moments before the assault have been asked to come forward.
The attacker is described as male, in his late 20s, 6ft 1in tall, stocky to muscular build, clean shaven with dark hair which is long on top and short on the sides.
Anyone with information should call DC Le-Maire on (01225) 763101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
