A MISSING parrot is safely back at home, thanks to a Wiltshire Times reader.
Peanuts, a three-year-old African Grey, was found in Trowbridge on Friday, July 26, after vanishing from his Bradford on Avon home five days before.
His owner, Phil Webb, said: "It was a relief when he was found, I was starting to despair."
Mr Webb and his wife, Marian, had been out searching for Peanuts all around the Bradford on Avon area and had put up posters asking for any information.
Mr Webb said: "We didn't think he would have made it as far as Trowbridge."
The bird was finally spotted in Trowbridge Park but flew into a garden when a passer-by tried to catch him.
He then flew into someone's house where he was finally captured.
"He was a bit hungry and dehydrated but he's back to his old self now," added Mr Webb.
