We are constantly being told to use contraception and have safe sex. But after 20-year-old Beverley Marsh took the third generation pill she developed a blood clot and died of a heart attack in 1994. All her parents, Patricia and Harry, of Warminster, wanted was justice for their daughter.
Their seven-year fight was ended by the High Court on Monday when a judge ruled that the pills posed no increased risk of blood clots.
The couple accept it is time to let go, but warn other women there could still be deadly consequences after taking the drug. Perhaps their words, if heeded, will mean their fight has not been entirely in vain.
