SIMPLIFYING its 406 line-up, Peugeot has added specification on some models at no extra cost.
The basic 406 design has stood the test of time, with the estate winning the Caravan Club towcar of the year for the second time this year, following its victory in 1997.
Key models affected by the changes are the 406 GLX, 406 Rapier and 406 GTX.
GLX models have been fitted with a six-CD autochanger, leather-trimmed steering wheel, electrochrome rear-view mirror and door sill illumination as standard.
The Rapier now offers electric tilt and slide sunroof, six-CD autochanger and ultrasonic alarm.
With the added extras in the GLX derivatives, Peugeot is deleting the GTX from its 406 range to make choice simpler.
The manufacturer is also marketing its 406 estate as a good buy for dog owners and walkers.
Among its accessories the estate version boasts a dog guard at £82, a boot tray (£48), waterproof seat cover, first aid kit, tow rope, lightweight reflective waistcoat and sunblinds for rear and side windows.
