CHILDREN cared for by social services have the opportunity to participate in a summer drama workshop, Key 2 Care, organised by Swindon Borough Council and KANDU Arts.
Two workshops have been organised this month, designed to encourage children and young people to comment and make suggestions about services available to them.
KANDU Arts is a local charity that aims to further public knowledge and understanding of issues relating to children's sustainable development.
The charity's patrons include Blur singer Damon Albarn, Spice Girl Mel C and actor Nick Moran, who starred in the film Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels.
Carolyn Madden, independent review officer for Swindon Borough Council, said: "This will be a great opportunity for children to give a personal account of the experience of being accommodated."
The Key 2 Care project is hoped to create greater awareness of young people's needs to make being accommodated by social services a positive experience.
Using the arts to communicate the relevant issues, youngsters will present their finished product to an invited audience at two performances on August 9 and 16.
