SWINDON councillor Judith Peppitt has welcomed plans to restore Lydiard Park to its former glory and called on people to get involved.
Coun Peppitt (Lib Dem, Freshbrook and Grange Park) said: "I hope residents in the ward I represent, which neigh-bours Lydiard Park, will become involved in much of the voluntary work needed to bring the site back up to date for the enjoyment of all."
The £5.5m five-year scheme to restore and develop the park is conditional on the council receiving £4.2m of National Lottery funding.
