THE Domino's pizza shop in Old Town has beat 400 other branches worldwide in sales figures.

The branch at 17-21 High Street has out-sold shops in the UK, across Europe and the Middle East selling a staggering 90,500 pizzas.

Top-seller, Pepperoni Passion, is proving to be the town's pizza lovers' favourite.

And hungry Swindonians have munched their way through a mammoth 320,000 slices of pepperoni and 92,400kg of mozzarella cheese over the last year.

But it is not the first time Swindon's James Swift and Siggy Wilberg, who run the store have achieved success.

Swindon's central branch is consistently in the top three performing Domino's Pizza stores in the country and has been among the top 10 per cent in Europe since it opened in 1990.

The two have also gone on to open two more Domino's Pizza stores in Newbury and Bath.

Mr Swift explained: "I'm particularly proud of this accolade because the Swindon store is where I got my first job at 16 and is also the first store where I became an owner operator."

In order to fill the rumbling stomachs of Swindon locals, Domino's delivery drivers have notched up an incredible 6,000 miles delivering pizzas to the door.

And customers can now place an order through interactive TV or online via website www.dominos.co.uk.
