FORD motors may be in the process of designing a new Capri but members of Swindon Capri Club are more than happy with the old version.
Boasting 15 members, the club meets every month at the Cold Harbour pub in Blunsdon to enthuse over their beloved coupes, called Dagenham dustbins by less enamoured motorists.
Club chairman Mark Battocchio, 35, from Shaw, has owned a Capri since he was 19.
He said: "People do not know what they are missing out on. They have stunning looks and tremendous power."
Members tour shows throughout the country and even go on holiday together.
Keith Richards, 47, from Eldene, has owned 12 Capris and is looking for a new one.
He said: "I enjoy changing the models for variety.
"They are an under-rated car and can go like lightning."
