Tommy Saunders, pictured above, inflicted a little revenge on the scourge of his managerial career on Saturday.
His namesake Tommy Sampson was in charge of the Deal side that left Chippenham heartbroken at Wembley in the 2000 FA Vase final.
But Saunders' Bluebirds gained some vengeance after a 3-1 win over Sampson's new side Dartford.
Fittingly, it was a member of the 2000 side that put Sampson's Dr Martens Eastern outfit to the sword.
Winger Steve Brown, who missed a golden opportunity during the 1-0 Vase defeat, terrorised the Kent side.
After a goalless first half, Saunders replaced a host of triallists with the big guns.
The effect was immediate and Town were 2-0 up within five minutes of the restart.
Steve Tweddle another veteran of the Vase days teed up Adie Mings for the first, and Brown stabbed home the second a minute later.
Brown then sealed victory with a dazzling solo effort, before Shaun Loft hit a consolation the first goal Town have conceded in five pre-season outings.
