ITALIAN Air Force engineers have carried out their inspection of the G-222 transport plane, which made a heavy landing during the Saturday display of the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford.
It is still unknown what caused the accident, but an investigation is underway by the Italian authorities.
The engineers will now report on whether repairs to the aircraft are viable.
The aircraft is expected to remain at the Gloucestershire base for some time.
