IN response to the letter from Carolanne Bond on July 30, I would like to point out that the Welcome Centre is not a trust, it is a registered charity. Neither is it a community centre it is a family support project.
The centre is based in Park North at Lyndhurst Crescent and had been for 14 years. The reason the Welcome Centre has to use a small part of the ex-Park South Infant School building is to provide some family support services not currently available in Park South.
Both projects will be available for families on either estate from October this year.
May I take this opportunity to invite Carolanne and any other resident of the Parks estates to visit the Welcome Centre during the summer holidays. We are open from 9am to 2pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 1pm on Fridays, or telephone (01793) 486806.
