SWINDON Borough Council has joined forces with an arts group supported by pop stars and actors to create a summer drama workshop for children who are cared for by social services.
Two workshops are running in August to encourage children and young people to comment on and make suggestions about services for them.
Kandu Arts is a local charity that has been set up to further the public knowledge and understanding of issues relating to sustainable development, using the arts to communicate the relevant issues. It works largely with disenfranchised groups, schools and businesses within the community.
The Patrons of Kandu Arts are pop stars Damon Albarn, Mel C, and actors Jerome Flynn, Richard Hawkins, Tim Lovejoy, Nick Moran and Con O'Neill.
In partnership with Swindon Social services, they will be running a project with accommodated children in Swindon called "Key 2 Care".
They will present their finished product to an invited audience at two performances at a local venue on Friday, August 9 and 16.
