Wiltshire's 50-plus side, weakened by injuries, elected to bat against Hampshire at Easton.
John Mitchell (South Newton) scored a patient 36. In an effort to hasten the run rate wickets fell rapidly until Peter Mathias of Marlborough played some firm and lusty strokes ending with 22.
Some support came from Brian Thompson with 19 but Wiltshire could only muster 126 all out.
Wiltshire started encouragingly, taking two early wickets and once again Des Jeffery bowled well with 2-21.
However Hampshire batsmen Wright (59) and L Nurse (39) dominated until the introduction of Gwyn Blenkinsop, who captured the wickets of both in his first over. This unfortunately was all too late as Hampshire reached their target having lost only five wickets.
