The Mayor of Swindon will be treated to a private viewing of a new exhibition at Swindon's Steam Museum.
Coun Stan Pajak will explore the hidden treasures of the museum's Storehouse display, which opened two weeks ago.
Storehouse is an Aladdin's cave of railway objects.
Fascinating items of Great Western Railway history are on display illustrating the huge achievements of the people who worked there.
Boiler trucks and handcarts are exhibited alongside whistles and tickets.
The walls of the Storehouse carry famous GWR and Diesel nameplates as well as original signalling equipment and locomotive models.
The new attraction is a permanent feature at the museum, offering visitors the chance to see, touch and explore real pieces of history.
The museum's events and promotions officer, Sharon Chalk, said: "Storehouse has proved very popular. It really seems to have struck a chord with people."
Coun Pajak will make a speech to guests, including fellow councillors and representatives from local companies, at Friday night's viewing.
