IT is not good enough for Councillor Martin to say that Conservative Councillors should not accept any blame for the mess we are all finding ourselves in.

It is a long time now since Labour lost overall control of the council and during this time the Conservatives with the Liberal Democrats have had the ability to force through any measures they wish to.

The truth is that they are not sure what is required or how to go about it.

When they were in the driving seat recently, why did they not take the action that they knew to be required?

The answer is that they are only any good at the easy bit and that is pointing to a problem. Fixing problems is always left to other parties because it usually involves bad publicity.

His letter that you have published illustrates exactly what I mean.
