CHELMSFORD City will be boosted by the arrival of two new signings when they make their first ever league visit to Hardenhuish Park on Saturday 10 August.
City boss and former Manchester United and England star Paul Parker has been a busy man in the transfer market this summer and completed his pre-season spending spree by adding Ansah Owusu and Steve Sanders to his ranks on Monday.
Livewire forward Owusu, a former Bristol Rovers loanee, has made a handful of appearances for Wimbledon in the Premiership, while defender Sanders has played Nationwide League football for Huddersfield Town and Doncaster Rovers.
The new additions to Parker's squad will help solve a selection crisis that has threatened to hamper the early part of City's season.
Record signing Kris Lee, who cost £15,000 from Heybridge Swifts last year, is out after suffering a hand injury while carrying out some DIY work at home, while new signing Simon Clarke is ruled out until Christmas with a broken leg.
Ben Fuller is also a long-term absentee, while midfielder Keith Sharman, a new signing from Crawley Town, is suspended. One man who should be fit to play is ex-Northern Ireland international Phil Gray. The veteran frontman has played for a host of clubs including Sunderland and Luton and was released by Third Division Oxford United at the end of last season.
Just five players remain from the squad that helped the club to Premier Division safety last term and Parker's aim is mid-table respectability this time around.
Chelmsford still play their matches ten miles away at Billericay Town, but will be moving to a new temporary stadium at Melbourne Park, in Chelmsford, later this season.
Parker, who took over last summer, encourages a passing style and his side are likely to be roared on by a large band of travelling fans on Saturday.
