THE Prospect Hospice staged a day of clowning around when it held a circus garden party.
Once again the public turned out in droves to support the Hospice, and the grand total for the day topped £3,000.
Among the attractions in the Hospice grounds were clowns, jugglers, fairground rides, donkey rides and a coconut shy as well as refreshments and crafts, tombolas and lots of games and competitions.
Community fundraiser Gillian Richardson said: "It was a fantastic event and we were once again grateful for the public's fabulous support.
"The mayor and mayoress had the hardest jobs of the day as they were kind enough to judge both the fancy dress competition and the drawing competition for us.
"We really need the support of the public if it wasn't for them we wouldn't exist."
The Hospice needs to raise 64 per cent of its £2.4 million budget every year, a figure of more than £1.7 million.
The prize of a complimentary meal for two at the Villiers Inn, Wroughton, for the Lucky Programme Draw was won by number 1367.
