THE latest round of nominations for Swindon mayor Stan Pajak's Good Citizen Awards closes on Thursday.
So far around a dozen entries have been received for the latest Good Neighbour category.
Coun Pajak said: "It's all about encouraging and rewarding good neighbours. The best thing about a house can be where you live and your neighbours and I think sometimes it's worth remem-bering that.
"I think we don't sell ourselves enough in Swindon these awards are a way of recognising some of the great people we have in this town."
Coun Pajak used the example of his Drove Road neighbour Eric Clissold, 79 , to launch the award.
The Good Citizen Awards were launched earlier this year and fall into six categories: Young Person, Good Neighbour, Carer in the Community, Environmental, Sporting Achievement and work for Charity.
The first award was presented to three-year-old Bethany Robin-son, from Moredon, in July. Not only did she beat cancer but she acts as the ears for her parents who are both deaf.
The nominations deadline for the Carer in the Community Category is October 18.
Nomination forms for all the awards are available from the Civic Offices on Euclid Street.
