A NURSE working for the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust in Swindon has earned his long service certificates for 33 years as a registered mental nurse in the National Health Service.
Danny Bundhoo, who came from Mauritius to start his nursing training at Wells in Somerset in 1968, started work as a staff nurse at Seymour Clinic in Swindon.
He did a two-year registered general nurse training course at Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon before returning to the Seymour Clinic to work in the High Dependency Unit.
In 1987 he became a member of the community psychiatric rehabilitation team, helping clients in Swindon who were being discharged from the former Roundway Hospital some of them after many years there to adjust to life in the community.
Danny, who is now retiring, said: "It is wonderful to receive recognition for my work with such disadvantaged people which has given me such pleasure and satisfaction during my career."
