HAVING suffered shock defeats last weekend, both Box Rovers and Dog and Fox Ashley hit back in emphatic style to record stunning victories of their own in the Premier Division of the Vanitec Computers sponsored Chippenham Sunday League.
Pre-season favourites Box Rovers had a comfortable 5-2 over new boys All Cannings A.
John Scott scored his first goals for the club with an excellent hat-trick and Tom Smith completed the five-star performance with a double. Martin Baker and Richard Mansell, with his first goal for over 12 months having returned after a lengthy period out injured, replied for Cannings.
Having lost 8-3 last week to All Cannings A, Dog and Fox Ashley were in no mood for a repeat performance and destroyed neighbours Winsley 9-0.
A first-half goal from Frank Rogers was not enough for Percy's FC (previously Corsham Centre United) who fell to a 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Hullavington Village. Carl Watkins and Antony Brown, with his first goal in three seasons for the club, found the mark in the second half.
Goals in each half from Alan Webb and Andy Wicks saw Malmesbury Victoria to a 2-0 home win over the Pack Horse.
Corsham FC produced an awesome second half performance to claim a 3-1 victory over Westbury Rangers A. Kane Scott put Rangers ahead before Toby Colebourne pulled one back before half time. Colebourne added his second to give Corsham the lead before Rangers' Dale Plummer put through his own goal to seal Corsham their win which leaves them perched on top of the pile at this early stage of the season.
Division One
ATWORTH United led the way on a day of upsets by beating Westbridge United 4-3 in Division One.
Chippenham Police were outplayed by a younger, fitter and faster West Lavington side who brushed aside the challenge from the boys in blue with a 5-1 victory. Darren Thorpe (3), Mark Roberts and Simon Drewitt scored for Lavington with Zack Newton finishing off an excellent team move to net the Police's consolation.
For the second consecutive week Trowbridge Harriers threw away a two-goal advantage before settling for a draw. With only two minutes left on the clock Harriers were leading Maud Heath Sports 2-0, courtesy of strikes from Paul Edwards and Robbie Simmonds. The Sports, who never gave up, scored through Dave Beal in the 88th minute and grabbed a share of the spoils when Ian Townsend hit the equaliser in the 90th minute to earn a 2-2 draw.

Gladstone Liberal Club and Colerne A shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Jason Prades put the Libs in front only for Jamie Bowler to level. Prades made it 2-1 to the Libs with Bowler bagging his second for Colerne to earn them a point.
Division Two
A GOAL 30 seconds from time by Paul Poiner earned Biddestone Social Club a share of the spoils from their 1-1 draw with Chippenham Black Horse, this after Will Halliwell had given the Horse a first half lead.
Biddestone thought they had won the game in injury time when Neil Harlock found the target only for his effort to be ruled out.

First half goals from Sid Ludford, Garth Minns and Kelvin Sanders earned North Star A a 3-0 victory against Sutton Benger.
Division Three
HOLT FC kicked off the new season in front of a crowd of 110.
After a goal-less first-half the game sprung into life in an action packed second period which saw the home team take a 4-0 advantage before Southwick staged a great fight back to drag the score back to 4-3. Despite constant pressure in the final stages they were unable to add a fourth and had to settle the odd goal defeat. Mac Elliott (2), Tim Edgar and Tom Pang scored for Holt, with Carl Davies (2) and Lee Ashman setting up the come back for Southwick.
Colerne B came from a goal behind to defeat Rowde 3-1. Ashley Robinson had given Rowde the lead which was erased by Steve Lucas. Michael O'Donnell had the opportunity to put Rowde back in front but pushed a penalty wide. Sam Coles scored from the spot for Colerne and the win was wrapped up by Neil Barton who scored goal number three.
Hare and Hounds had former West Lavington striker Anthony Dowell between the sticks fro their first outing of the season and it he played a major part in his new side's 1-0 win over Corsham Park Rangers. Dowell was in fine form to kep out the threat of a frustrated Rangers side who were on top for long periods. Paul Revening's 32nd minute strike sealed both points for the Devizes-based team.
After losing out to Somerford FC in their two meetings last term Roadrunners FC claimed an empathic 4-0 win over last year's Division Four runners-up. Steve Ivin kept up his fine start to the season with two, with Andy Zuk and Carl Gilbert netting the other.
Sixteen-year-old Luke Denham scored the goal of the game as Corsham Centre beat the Sir Audley's Arms 3-1. Denham beat five players and then rounded the goalkeeper before calmly slotting home United's third goal. Nigel Evans and John Mackenzie had set them on their way. Steve Shipway replied for the Arms.
Blue Circle Saints cemented their second win of the campaign with a 3-1 victory over AFC Unicorn which left the Melksham side pointless from their two outings. The Saints made the better start and were 2-0 up at half-time, with Wayne Wheeler and Graham Deveney (penalty) scoring. Unicorn came out fighting in the second half and were awarded a penalty when Lee Scutter was hauled down in the box. Scutter got up and converted the spot kick with ease to reduce the margin.
Unicorn applied constant pressure but were unable to add to their tally and it was the Saints who found the mark again late on when Wheeler hit his second goal in the 85th minute.
Division Four
POTTERNE FC staged a second-half comeback against Westbury Rangers B, but it was not enough to save them from losing 3-2.
Shane Rendell (2) and Dale Johnson scored Rangers' first half goals, with Richard Burke and Paul Mason hitting the target for Potterne in the second period.
KSM picked up their first win since last November with a 6-4 defeat of the Plough. Stuart Kofie (3), Kez Russell, Ollie Selman and Nick Margolis shared the winners' half dozen, with Jamie Jenks, Jason Harford, Lee Moran and Craig Bennett, with a 20 yard free kick, replying.
