SKURRAY'S WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: WROUGHTON moved into third spot in the Premier Division table after gaining a comfortable 3-0 home win over Melksham Town Reserves in a scrappy game at the Weir Field.
Highlight of the first half was a fine solo effort from Jamie Richards who shrugged off a couple of defenders and rounded the Melksham goalkeeper to score.
Midway through the second half Tom Dingle added a second following a goalmouth scramble and Lee Curtis scored a third from close range.
Leaders Stratton Crosslink ran riot at Marlborough Town, beating the home side 9-0. Rick Casey and Russell Winstone gave the visitors a two-goal lead at the break. The home side had a player sent off early in the half and their 10 men found it difficult to cope with the leaders who scored at regular intervals.
Steve Shaw helped himself to four goals and also missed a penalty. Rick Casey got a second and further goals arrived from Rob Broadbanks and Mark Smith.
Result of the day saw Devizes Town Reserves beaten 2-0 by the much-improved Aldbourne outfit.
The visitors deserved their victory, going a goal up in the first-half from Steve Hewitt with Matt Friar adding a second-half effort to ensure victory.
Biddestone's Tim Tasker scored a first-half penalty to give his side a 2-1 win over visitors Westbury United Reserves.
Home side Malmesbury Vics trailed Corsham Town Reserves 1-0 at half-time before the visitors stepped up a gear after the break to add four more and run out comfortable 5-1 winners. Russell Lodge, Chris Jones, Tom Weeks, Martin Ford and Jamie Rowe got the goals.
Pewsey Vale Reserves and Purton Reserves shared the points in a 1-1 draw, both goals coming in the second-half Mark Field for Pewsey and Johnny Cool for Purton.
Intermediate Division leaders Sherston beat Down Ampney 3-1 thanks to goals from Mick Parsmore, Gavin Thompson and James Harris.
Blunsdon United shared the points with Biddestone Reserves, James Tindall equalising for Biddestone in the last minute. Wanborough United beat Calne Town Reserves 5-1 Brett Goodson and Neil Bronson scoring two apiece, with Paul Parsons adding a fifth.
Junior Division leaders Ferndale Rodbourne were beaten 6-3 at Minety, despite going 2-1 up just before the break.
Graham Reed (2) Andy Billet, Tony Hamersley, Willie Wood and an own goal were the home side scorers.
Bromham beatBlunsdon United Reserves 6-1 with goals from Jason Prades (2) Jim Sandiford (2) Nathan West and Richard Dyke.
Cricklade Reserves and Sporting HKQ took part in an eight-goal thriller at Cricklade with goals coming thick and fast. Dave Parks, Darren Swaddon, Paul Tranter, Craig Ratcliffe and Dave Cooke scored for the home side and Andy Bungay (2) and Gary Timberlake scored for the visitors.
Wootton Bassett United gained a 4-1 win over Wanborough United Reserves, Chris Cooper, Steve Thomas, Derek Labatt and Darren Shephard scoring for Bassett, with Dick Harmon on target for Wanborough.
Purton A and Albourne Reserves shared six goals Ben Adams, Mark Donachie and Mark Giles on the scoresheet for the homeside and Nick O'Dwyer and Simon Bartholomew for the visitors in the 3-3 draw.
