WOMENS FOOTBALL: SEB Everson grabbed four goals as Chippenham Town Ladies began the defence of their league title with an emphatic victory at Swindon Spitfires Reserves.
The Bluebirds made a fine start and were a goal up after only four minutes. Jess Pomfret made a break down the left and crossed for Everson to find the back of the net.
Chippenham continued to dominate and the same combination doubled the visitors' lead just past the half hour mark. Pomfret's lofted right-wing centre again found the prolific Everson, who grabbed her second of the game.
Harriet Titcombe latched onto Lia Painter's long ball to make it three five minutes before the interval, before Everson punished a weak goal kick to put Chippenham further in front at the break.
Substitute Tash Perry set up Becky Prangley for the fifth Bluebirds goal eight minutes after the break, before seeing a shot come back off the crossbar. Everson completed the rout in the 83rd minute, scoring with the aid of an upright following Titcombe's through ball.
