FA CUP: DEVIZES Town will be looking to take a step closer to the first round proper of the FA Cup when they entertain former Screwfix Direct League rivals Taunton Town on Saturday 14 September.
Ray Baverstock's men are unbeaten in four outings sand set up a first qualifying round date with the newly-promoted Dr Martens League side thanks to a 5-2 win over Ilfracombe.
Taunton were defeated 3-2 at Nursteed Road in last season's league meeting between the sides, and the Somerset side's healthy away following should ensure a bumper gate. Baverstock is hoping the clash will not see a repeat of the last time he managed a side against Taunton.
He said: "I came up against them a couple of years ago with Cirencester and they beat us 4-0. But I'm not too bothered about them. If we can get our formation and shape right then we will give them a good game. They'll be big and strong, but we'll be going out there looking to win it."
Corsham Town, who recorded a fine 3-1 win over Portland to reach the first qualifying round, face a daunting trip to Premier Division Paulton Rovers on Saturday. Manager Mark Godley said: "We've nothing to lose. It should be a great day for the club and I can't wait."
Hellenic League Highworth Town are at a home to Dr Martens Western Division side Cinderford Town.
