SUPERMARINE head into their Dorset & Wilts Two North campaign in the knowledge that they are now better prepared than at any other time in their history.
A soon-to-be-announced sponsorship deal has helped secure the financial muscle needed for promotion.
And the coaching staff, led by Steve Bartlett and Andy Sear, have switched the emphasis of training in a bid to add that extra ingredient for success on it.
Marine are hotly tipped this season and their numbers have been boosted by new arrivals.
In have come scrum-half Neil Jones, winger Paul Prentice, centre Graham McIntosh and second row Steve Duffy.
And the strong youth section, one of the best in the region, has thrown up a few gems in the form of Lee Edmonds and Steve Higgins, among others.
An enthusiastic Bartlett believes that an injury-free season is the key to promotion success for his side.
"The way the lads have been coping with new coaching ideas has been to their credit,'' he said.
"We will have two teams to choose players from this season, as Sam Smith and Paul Ferris (player-coaches) will copy the style set by the first XV.
"When called upon, they can slot into a well-established format.''
The coaching staff, now increased from one to five have put the pre-season emphasis on attacking rugby and extra personal fitness.
Bartlett added: "Promotion is what is needed for this season.
'Forget local rivalry games, they were for years gone by, and, although still important, should be set back into history.
"Winning this league can set a foundation for pushing us nearer the goal of becoming the premier outfit in Swindon.''
"As long as key players can avoid major injuries, the squad is deep enough to win promotion this year.''
