Chippenham Town produced their best display of the season to beat Havant & Waterlooville 3-1 in the Dr Martens Premier Division last night.
Tommy Saunders' side fell behind to a superb early strike, but roared back in style.
It was a particularly sweet success for former Swindon Town stars Mark Robinson, Gareth Davies and Charlie Griffin, who got one over former County Ground team mates Gareth Hall and Bobby Howe, both of whom featured for visiting Havant.
The Bluebirds should have taken an early lead through Griffin, but his header was off target, and Steve Brown just failed to convert the miss at the back post.
Simon Charity then dragged a shot wide before Town were hit by a fantastic Brett Poate strike on 22 minutes.
The full-back crashed a low angled drive inside Paul Thompson's far post from fully 30 yards.
Saunders' troops hit back though, and Griffin levelled matters before half-time, smashing home Brown's left-wing cross after an incisive through ball from Mark Harrington.
After a scrappy opening to the second period, Chippenham began to take control.
Griffin soon ran clear, but was upended by former Coventry man Liam Daish right on the edge of the 18-yard box.
The Bluebirds were on the wrong end of a contentious penalty decision at Grantham on Saturday, but this time they were the beneficiaries as the referee pointed to the spot.
Martin Paul calmly stroked home the penalty and Town were firmly in control.
Paul doubled his own tally 10 minutes from time, rounding keeper Aaron Kerr and slotting in after more good work from Griffin.
The former Bath City striker should have had a hat-trick, but a late sitter was scrambled off the line by Havant's ragged rearguard.
The win lifts Town back up to eighth ahead of the visit of John McGinlay's Ilkestone on Saturday.
