HUNDREDS of people in rural areas of Wiltshire are being helped by volunteer-run community transport schemes and, on Tuesday, September 17, this achievement will be celebrated.
The day has been designated Wiltshire's community transport day as a part of the European-wide mobility week.
Community First and the Wiltshire Rural Transport partnership are holding an event at the Civic Hall, Trowbridge to mark the occasion.
Kenneth Grimes, director of Community First, said: "Community transport schemes make huge differences to the quality of people's lives.
The Civic Hall event starts at 12.15pm, with speakers, an exhibition and buffet lunch.
