HOUSEHOLDERS have been warned not to lose their right to vote and ensure they return registration forms sent out this week.
West Wiltshire District Council has sent forms to every household for the 2003 Register of Electors.
This year new laws mean for the first time there will be two versions of the register.
The full version lists everyone who is entitled to vote and can be checked, under supervision, by calling at the council offices and certain local libararies.
The only organisations that can have copies of the full register will be local and central government, the police, registered political parties and credit reference agencies for specific purposes, such as the prevention and detection of crime.
Voters have the choice whether to appear on the new edited register which can be bought by anyone who asks for a copy.
