A CHARITY Christmas card shop which normally raises up to £30,000 for good causes has appealed for help to ensure it can reopen again this year.
Volunteers were dealt a blow in 2001 after they could not find premises and were unable to open.
Organiser Cynthia Mossman said the group has started looking for premises early this year in the hope a landlord will step forward.
Mrs Mossman said: "The takings went up and up each year and last time we raised about £30,000 for 32 charities.
"People are already contacting me now to find out what is happening.
"The shop makes all the difference in the world to some of the charities. It would be an awful waste if we cannot find anywhere.
"People have supported us for many years."
Volunteers are looking for a shop in the town centre which they can have for free, but will pay the bills.
Among the charities helped in the past are Dorothy House, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and the Bath Cancer appeal for RUH. Local branches of many national charities have also benefited.
The shop opens from mid October to the week before Christmas.
Anyone who is able to help is asked to contact the Wiltshire Times newsdesk on (01225) 352484.
