West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust is in charge of five community hospitals:
Bradford on Avon Community Hospital: the 7.2 acre site will be scaled down because the Grade II listed building does not meet the standards for 21st-century healthcare. A new facility will be built in the front grounds with the rest of the site earmarked for residential development;
Melksham Community Hospital: built in 1939, the single-storey building is set in eight acres of land. An outpatient department was added on in the late 1970s;
Trowbridge Community Hospital: The mid-1800s, Grade II listed building was developed extensively in the 1930s with the addition of wards and patient accommodation;
Warminster Community Hospital and Health Centre: original buildings were constructed in 1930 with a day hospital, in-patient accommodation and physiotherapy unit added in 1989. The adjoining Family Health Centre was built in the 1970s and refurbished in the 1980s;
Westbury Community Hospital: built in the 1930s, additional facilities were added between 1960 and 1981. In-patient beds and a therapy department were completed in 1989.
