WASH-DAY habits and traditions of people in Bradford on Avon appear in words and pictures at an unusual exhibition in the town.
Friends Catherine Bryant and Gail Mason have spent the last year visiting people's washing lines and have produced an exhibition of words and pictures.
Mrs Bryant, a nursery school manager whose hobby is photography, said: "Gail moved down from London and said one of the great things about Bradford was to have a washing line. They make very interesting photographs and the project developed from there.
"We would go out on a Saturday or Sunday and drive round looking at washing lines.
"I was taking photos and then people would start talking and giving us lots of interesting things about their washing and how they hang things out or what they do when they are camping."
The exhibition runs at Bradford on Avon library until Saturday, September 14, and Mrs Bryant said many of the people who feature in the pictures have already turned out to see them.
Mrs Bryant said: "It is really a social documentary of photos and script."
