AS a follow up to your article in last week's Wiltshire Times, I coincidentally, gathered over 60 signatures from just the Innox Road, Innox Mill Close and Linden Place area in little over an hour regarding the appalling sewage smell pervading this end of our county town.
I have lived in Linden Place for over five years and this year is, without doubt, the worst the smell has been. It is impossible to enjoy one's garden and it is of great embarrassment to have to explain to friends why they have to endure such unpleasantness when visiting.
Talking to people in the area, several said that they have been assured several times over the years that the situation would improve but still nothing happens.
In this technological age it is absolutely ridiculous that Wessex Water cannot combat this stench. I wouldn't mind betting that there's no smell where the boss of Wessex Water lives.
Please Wessex Water, do something drastic now before I'm forced to go on TV on the Watchdog programme or worse. Failing that, can anyone tell me where I can buy the old style large wooden clothes pegs for the noses of my neighbours and myself?
