MINCED beef and dumplings, followed by tapioca pudding, helped staff and residents at Trowbridge Oaks nursing home revisit their school days.
The home marked the start of the brand new academic year with a day of themed activities and fancy dress.
Activities organiser Ray Horan said: "All the staff dressed up and came in wearing school uniforms, and the residents had school dinners.
"We went round handing out cartons of milk and staff from Trowbridge library came for a morning to reminisce about school days and history.
"Some of the residents' families brought in pictures from about 1912 to 1914.
"We talked about what it was like at school back then with rationing, and now.
"The event showed that, although we are all a bit older, we still like to dress up and have a laugh."
Trowbridge Oaks regularly holds theme days and events to entertain staff and residents.
