Kate Shipton, of Trowbridge, has started the new term at John of Gaunt school with a certificate already to her credit.
The 15-year-old was one of only 100 students from around the country to be awarded a certificate on completion of a summer school course run by the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth.
"It was a lot of fun and helped improve my English," said Kate who hopes to follow in her father Jonathan's footsteps and become a lawyer. Mr Shipton works for west Wiltshire solicitors Goughs.
