A recycling scheme has been launched to encourage staff at Wiltshire County Council to be more environmentally friendly.
Dozens of bins have been placed around County Hall in Trowbridge to collect aluminium cans, clear glass and plastic.
The council already has a similar scheme for paper.
Pam Gough, environmental services policy officer, said: "Staff have already been given dedicated paper bins to ensure this material is recycled, so extending this scheme to cover cans, plastic and glass is the next logical step.
"We hope it will encourage them to think more about the way they deal with rubbish and become more environmentally friendly."
The council hopes to achieve the international environmental standard ISO 14001 which is awarded to organisations with a proven track record in the field.
Sarah Welch, corporate property officer, said: "We already recycle about 80 tonnes of paper each year which saves more than 1,300 trees and 10,000 gallons of oil.
"We hope this improved scheme will increase the amount of material recycled at County Hall by 25 per cent."
