A PARADE in Swindon on Sunday will commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Commemorations will begin at 2.30pm with personnel from RAF Lyneham and members of the Swindon Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) and the Air Training Corps marching through Swindon behind Swindon Pegasus Brass Band.
In Bath Road the parade will pass a podium outside the Methodist Church with Stan Pajak, Mayor of Swindon, RAF Lyneham Station Commander, Group Captain Ray Lock and President of the Swindon Branch of RAFA, Air Commodore Jim Hall .
As the parade passes the podium and reviewing officers take the salute, a Hercules aircraft from RAF Lyneham will fly over.
Following the parade a church service will be held in Christ Church to remember 'The Few' who defeated the Luftwaffe and prevented an invasion by the Nazis.
