The Swindon Link Centre ice rink has been chosen to host a major national and international conference for the Federation of Artistic Roller-skating. Judges, coaches and performers from around the world will descend on the leisure centre for a weekend conference in early November.
The conference, on November 2 and 3, will be chaired by Swindon's ice rink manager, Alan Seabrook.
He said: "Roller-skating as a competitive event is not that popular in the South West compared to the Midlands or the South East. This is our opportunity to showcase Swindon as a potential venue for major roller-skating contests."
