CONGRATULATIONS should go to everyone who has been involved in turning round the fortunes of Nythe Primary School.
Parents and staff have always fought hard to support the school, despite two attempts by Swindon Council to close it due to falling pupil numbers and a damning inspection report by Government inspectors.
But today, they can give themselves a pat on the back and breathe a much-needed sigh of relief after those same inspectors gave it a clean bill of health.
And new headteacher, Debbie Kalynka, should also take some of the praise, despite having been only in the job for three months. Her leadership skills have obviously helped make that vital difference.
If anything, this proves that if the will is there, our struggling schools can fight their way back from the brink to renewed success.
