MORE than 5,000 people are expected to crowd Swindon's Hilton Hotel on Thursday for the Evening Advertiser Jobs Fair.

Sponsored by Gist, the fair will be more than an opportunity for prospective employees to meet prospective employers.

It will also feature a series of seminars and workshops covering every aspect of seeking a job, from preparing CVs and drafting letters to shining in interviews.

There will even be advice on voluntary work for those who are past the stage where they feel they need paid employment or simply have time to spare.

There will also be specialist advice from job centre staff.

There will be no admission charge to the fair, which will be opened by Swindon mayor Stan Pajak at 10am and remain open until 8pm.

A free shuttle bus will be operating, with pick-up points at the Job Centre, New College, Swindon College and the University of Bath in Swindon. Limited parking will be available at the venue.
