AFTER reading your article 'Price of a pint goes up' I would like to inform you that we at the Woodshaw have actually put our real ale down by 5p from September 2.
We felt that the average pub-goer was misled by the chancellor in the last budget into thinking they were going to get 14p off a pint of real ale.
Arkells gave us 5p, which was good, but to have to put it up again just didn't feel right. So in real terms we have dropped our real ale prices by 10p 2Bs is £1.90 and 3Bs is £2.
You can imagine this has gone down really well with our regulars it is not often that a landlord puts beer prices down.
