Rail-users in Swindon suffered a day of delays and cancellations after a section of track had to be closed for safety reasons. Between 8.30am and mid-afternoon yesterday (Monday).
First Great Western cancelled seven trains while nearly all services through Swindon faced delays. The problems were caused by a broken fish-plate used to connect two sections of track.
