The town's Commercial Vehicle Department is to carry out further checks on drivers after unmasking a series of lorries with defects on the M4.
In a random vehicle check at Leigh Delamere Services between junction 17 and 18 on Friday, police inspectors stopped 61 vehicles.
They recorded a catalogue of offences from unsafe loads to drivers working too many hours and one vehicle was also seized after it was found to be running illegally on paraffin.
